Dry Lips
Dry lips are one of the most common skin complaints, and one of the most misunderstood. The skin on your lips is thinner than the rest of your face and has no oil glands of its own, so it loses moisture quickly and has very little natural defence against wind, sun, licking and irritating ingredients.
A lip balm can feel soothing for a few minutes and still make things worse over time if it contains fragrance, flavouring, menthol or camphor. Lasting repair usually comes from protecting the lip barrier, avoiding what triggers dryness, and treating any underlying cause. If your lips stay dry or cracked even after good care, eczema, an allergy to a product or a nutrient gap may be behind it, and it is worth checking with a dermatologist.
